If you follow me on my IG stories your probably saw me posting about some delicious eats at the relaunch of 88 Oaks. What used to be a thriving sports bar, is now a very modern and chic restaurant serving up some of the best dishes in town. Using local ingredients, and a dash of regional flair, guests will enjoy classics such as Fried Green Tomatoes, Smoked Carolina Country Ribs or a southern twist to Charcuterie. On your next visit be sure to try some of their creative cocktails as well as their exclusive brew called the “88 Oak” – a delicious brown IPA you can’t find anywhere else!
88 Oaks is a part of the Hilton Hotel in North Hills. In fact, they are the largest hotel event space in Wake County! From weddings to work meetings, large events and intimate gatherings -88 Oaks at the Hilton can provide you a space like none other.
Ben & I had a great time at the event meeting the management and staff and learning about the updated space while tasting their delicious new menu. If you’re looking to show off to your new boss, or simply have a relaxed date night out with your S.O, go check out 88 Oaks. I’ve listed a few of my favorite dishes below, you MUST try them on your next visit. (p.s the seafood was my favorite!!)
CRAB CAKES | 14 corn flour dredged, sour gherkin tartar sauce
PICKLED SHRIMP | 12 poached NC shrimp, Covington vodka and champagne vinegar bath, peppadew, garlic, apricot cocktail sauce
BAKED CAROLINA CRAB DIP | 13 folded with scallion, parmesan and spices, grilled naan wedges
GUACAMAME | 10 avocado, edamame, grilled naan wedges
GRILLED PORTABELLA | 11 arugula, Goat Lady chévre, avocado, dried tomato, brioche bun
SHRIMP AND GRITS | 20 NC shrimp, crispy pork belly, leeks, green tomato chow-chow, cheddar stone milled grits
